Point Lookout Markets
Sundays during School Holidays
The Point Lookout markets on North Stradbroke Island are a friendly affair, and have a high following amongst holiday makers. The markets are located at the Point Lookout Community Hall, opposite the Bowls Club on Dickson Way starting at approximately 8am and finishing around midday.
An array of gifts, local arts and crafts are available including clothing, jewelry, natural beauty products, candles, paintings, native plants, jams, relishes, honeys and home baked food.
Easter Carnival & Fireworks Spectacular
Saturday 30th March 2013. 3pm – 8.30pm
The Easter Carnival & Fireworks are held at the Straddie Sharks Football Club, Ron Stark Oval, Dunwich. Stradbroke Island accommodation options are currently available for the Easter 2013. Easter holiday dates are Friday 29 March – Monday 1 April 2013. You can review properties and then alter your required date range if you would like to spend a longer stay on Straddie.

LINES in the SAND Arts Festival

Discover Stradbroke is proud to be a sponsor of this fantastic nature based arts festival. Straddie is such a beautiful part of the world – unique in fact and the Lines in the Sand Festival reflects a movement towards nature based tourism and arts.
The Festival is a collection of artists, local Stradbroke island residents and visitors, focusing on the island and it’s diverse and ancient ecology. The festival works to strengthen and develop sustainable nature-based tourism in the Redlands.
The 4-day program will include art installations around the Gorge Walk and headland, nature based art workshops, outdoor performance, environment forums and artists talks and walks.

Stradbroke Chamber Music Festival

The Stradbroke Chamber Music Festival is comprised of a series of concerts at intimate venues in the magnificent surroundings of North Stradbroke Island. The 2012 Festival (July 27-29) was a great success and the program for next year is currently in development.
Straddie Salute Multisport Festival

The Straddie Salute Multisport Festival has fast become a must-do weekend on Queensland’s multisport calendar.
Set on North Stradbroke Island, the Straddie Salute offers three events over two days in one big weekend of adventure. Swim the crystal clear waters in the Straddie 1000 Ocean Swim, jog along one of Queensland’s most beautiful coastal trails in the 8km Adventure Run / Walk or take up the ultimate challenge, the Straddie Salute Triathlon.

Straddie Assault Teams Surfing Competition

The Straddie Assault is held annually by the Point Lookout Boardriders Club and is Australia’s longest running teams surfing competition. 16 of Australia’s premier clubs based between Noosa and Lennox Heads are invited to participate. Teams of 10 riders represent their clubs, including junior and senior competitors. Several previous participants have gone on to compete on the World Surfing Tour.
Island Vibe Festival

In October each year the Island Vibe festival attracts people to Straddie to gather and enjoy a diverse line up of over 50 reggae, roots, dub, soul and electronic acts. The festival also includes art exhibitions, interactive workshops, stalls, circus, eco-food and craft markets.

Stradbroke Island Beach Hotel & Spa Resort holds a casual bistro lunch and local fundraisers organise the Toad Races. Individuals or groups can ‘bid for a toad’ to compete in the heats with a final race held at the end. The winners share the takings with the fundraisers. It’s a lot of fun!

Little Ship Club Annual Seafood Spectacular
January 2014
The Annual Seafood Spectacular will be held at the Little Ship Club. The Festival will have fresh prawns, oysters, bugs and crabs straight from the trawler, live music and kids entertainment including a jumping castle, play area and face painting.
